Asbestos comes in many forms and is a mineral fiber used in over 3,000 products. These products can be characterized as either friable or non-friable Asbestos Containing Material (ACM).
Areas of potential concern include floor tiles and adhesives, ceiling tiles, pipe insulation, fireproofing, shingles, sheetrock compound, boilers, roofing, exterior siding, and other products that were installed before the mid-1970s.
Disturbing ACM during remodeling and demolition poses a health risk for all parties involved with its handling. Asbestos can only be detected by laboratory analysis. Asbestos abatement must be performed by a licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractor, such as Bestech, Inc.
Bestech has trained, licensed tradesmen to perform your asbestos abatement needs. Bestech's Supervisors have 40-Hour Asbestos Training and annual refreshers, Annual Asbestos Physicals, Fit Tests, and State Licensing for each state they work in, as well as OSHA 30-Hour training every 5 years.
With over 40 years of experience, you can rest assured that Bestech is your best bet!
Asbestos fibers are microscopic and odorless. When materials are disturbed during demolition or renovation, fibers become airborne and can be inhaled, leading to serious health complications.
A rare and aggressive cancer affecting the lining of the lungs. It is almost exclusively caused by asbestos exposure and can take 20-50 years to develop.
A chronic lung disease caused by inhaling fibers. The fibers scar lung tissue (fibrosis), making it difficult to breathe and permanently damaging lung function.
Prolonged exposure significantly increases the risk of lung cancer. This risk is severely exacerbated for individuals who smoke or have a history of smoking.
